History Edit

On November 9, 1988, while fleeing police, Charles Lee Ray, the notorious “Lakeshore Strangler”, was shot and mortally wounded by Federal Detective Mike Norris. Before dying, Charles took cover inside a toy store which had a sale on “Good Guy” dolls, and used a voodoo ritual in order to transfer his soul into one of the dolls. The store was then struck by lightning, and it burned to the ground. Before the death of his human body, Ray had randomly murdered several people, many of whom simply got in his way. For ten years he attempted to use six-year-old Andy Barclay’s body to harbor his soul because, as required by the magic, Andy was the first person to whom Chucky revealed his identity.

Finding Chucky’s broken doll body ten years later, Tiffany, an old girlfriend, reassembled and reanimated him. When Chucky admitted that he never intended to marry her, Tiffany imprisoned him, but Chucky managed to escape, He electrocuted Tiffany, and transformed her soul into a bride doll. After reconciling, the couple embarked on a murder spree, culminating at the cemetery where Chucky’s human body was buried, as they needed to get an amulet (called “The Heard of Damballa”) in order to transfer their souls into human bodies. But Tiffany had other plans – she slyly asked Chucky to kiss her before they appropriated human form, but suddenly grabbed his knife and stabbed him. The two dolls fought to the death, after which Tiffany was discovered by a cop. Tiffany managed to give birth to a baby doll, dying shortly afterward. Chucky and Tiffany eventually reconciled again to raise their son/daughter, but this also resulted in Chucky being cut into pieces and stored in a police evidence locker.
